It also adds structural rigidity to the top of the tub, preventing the walls from folding inward under water pressure.

The oval footprint gives this tub a more natural seating position than round alternatives. Your knees can extend forward while your back rests against the wall, mimicking the posture of sitting in a bathtub rather than crouching in a barrel. For longer cold plunge sessions in the 10-15 minute range, this ergonomic advantage becomes noticeable.
